CPU support problem

Hello everybody

I'm new to this forum. The reason for registerring is that I have faced a problem with my Mbord (648 FXA ver: 1.0, 478 socket).

It has been running on a P4/ 2.6GHz / 512k / 800 FSB.

The problem started when I tried to fit a P4/ 3.00GHz / 1M / 800 FSB processor. This CPU worked fine when tested on an ASUS M/B (and retested after my failure), so I thought that with suite me fine. But it didn't. The PC would not start. On the other hand, when I refitted my old 2.6 it came back to life.


In the M/B specs page this CPU is supposed to be supported.

I don't know what to do.
Would a BIOS flash solve this problem???

Probably. As the CPU seems to be fine, it probably is a BIOS issue. See if there is an update and apply it.
