XP install - no CD - help!

I've built a PC for my brother in law, and am about to istall a (legit) version of XP home - I dig out the wallet with the key and CD in it - but no CD - I've lost it!

Just turned the house upside down looking for it - to no avail.

Can someone suggest options to me which don't involve forking out again?!

    Thanks

Best option os to borrow a friends cd if possible, you need the cd that matches the os type,

eg an xp home cd for xp home

as long a you still have the liscenc numbe youll be fine, otherwise you could get someone to burn bootable copies of the cd's?

Make sure the license type is the same aswell.
E.g. if its an OEM key it needs to be an OEM XP disc, a retail key needs a retail disc.

Would it be legal to DL it from a torrent site if you had a key?
    With love and many thanks,

I'm confident it would be legal.. you'd hardly run into problems either way, but I'd give microsoft a call about a replacement disk.. surely it mustn't be that expensive to replace?
