    unstable PC

having major problems with my PC at the mo and its about to go out of the window.

    i have the following
    Athlon XP 3700+ s939
    DFI Lanparty UT RDX200 CF-DR
    2x512mb DDR2700
    ATI X800GTO
    Pioneer DVD-RW
    Segate 200GB hard disk
    HP Photosmart printer
    Netgear SC101 NAS

is running XP SP2 with all the updates, and ati catalyst 7.3.

since i built this it hasnt been stable, i get random lock up's, crash's, odd behaviour (the system wont turn off, only restart) and its driving me nuts.

i play WOW a bit and sometimes i can play for a few days with no problems, other times like tonight i have crashed or been disconnected 3 times in 10 minutes.

i know the RAM is really too slow for the machine, but is that likley to be causing all these problems??

if anyone can shed any light on what might be the cause of this, i would be very greatfull

    cheers

Try running memtest on the memory if you find no errors try resetting the CMOS.

just found out the ram was running 2.5-3-3-7, so put it back to 3-3-3-7 and runing memtest at the mo.

with any amount of luck that might cure the lock ups and resets, but god knows whats causing the PC to restart wheni tell it to shutdown

can anyone confirm if this motherboard is known for odd problems or it is just my failing memory??
