task manager wont open

using xp pro sp2
when i press ctrl alt delete,my task manager minimizes in my task bar,when i right click on it to maxamize nothing happens, it just stays in the task bar at the bottom,if i double click it nothing happens,so i cant open it.any sugestions.:

I've had something similar when I had 2 monitors plugged in and one turned off (doh) . Do have more than one Display? If so disable it or have a look at it might be open there.

you were wright it was opening on my second monitor.which was off.

^hehe, I've done that *so* many times. First time I did it it took me the best part of two days to work out where it had gone!
