Is this the easiest way to Overclock 6700?

I read the guide and I worry that I am missing something. I only want a mild overclock to push my 6700 a little. I have an MSI P6N SLI, and 4 GB OCZ Ram.
According to the guide all I do is enter the bios and change the CPU frequency a little. EG from 266 to 300. This will clock my CPU?

A second stupid thing is I have a USB keyboard (Microsoft reculsa) I cannot enter the bios until windows boots my keyboard to life. Is there a way round this or do I need a PS2 keyboard?

Any thoughts on a simple low key overclock?

    Cheers.

Try pressing delete key on boot or F1 key until you see the bios. Your usb keyboard should be ok and be on from or just after you switch on.

Cheers Thats the guide I read. After I got into the bios I found MSI overclocking tool. Took it to 10% and froze in game so had to reduce it

Never use a motherboard manufacturers overclocking tool or indeed their speed % increase in the bios. You simply don't know what settings are changing.

The overclocking guide posted above should show you how to do it properly.

Read some reviews of your board and understand what settings are required to be changed before even starting to overclock (eg. INTEL EIST Disabled, C1E Disabled, PCI-E bus locked at 100) and the relationship between FSB, ram speed and cpu speed aswell as effect of cpu voltage on heat, stability and potentially damaging the cpu. Above all take things nice and slowly there is no "do this and you'll get that" button.MSI P6N SLI Platinum - Page 5 - The BIOS

    Thanks for the input.
I have opened another thread checking out my temps:
    http://forums.hexus.net/help-technic...ml#post1392117

As you will see I wanted to get the CPU to 3000 and have done that. Its just the temps are now unknown to me. I have searched for the last 2 hours and cannot find a clear answer.
