Question Electronics / Electrical Engineer / Soldering Question

I'm looking to get a chip removed from a circuit board and replaced. The connectors on the chip are very small (8 holes down each 12mm side, each hole being about 0.3mm in diameter) so it's not something you could do by hand and presumably I need to find a company with specialist equipment for working on this scale. Unfortunately I don't know what sort of company would take on this sort of work and have the equipment to do it. I haven't had much look searching Google because I don't really know what to search for.

Does anybody know what sort of company I should search which would have the sort of equipment needed to work on this scale and would do this sort of job?

Sorry if I'm in the wrong forum; the question isn't really PC hardware related but this seemed the most appropriate forum to post it in.

I'm no expert, but you could probably get this done using a reflow oven.
Companies that do PCB assembly should have one of these. A smaller company that offers one off prototyping would probably be more willing to help you out than a mass production type place.
    Good luck.

Re: Electronics / Electrical Engineer / Soldering Question

you could use a solder sucker to remove the solder and a fine tip soldering iron and magnifying glass. you shouldn't attempt it unless your adept at soldering tho. most companys use a solder bath to fix all components at a time, so that is probably your best bet, to find sowhere with a solder bath and get them to redip for you. how much of a distance is there between each of the pins, a photo would be good, preferably with a rule next to it for scale, cos if its not too bad then you might be able to take it to a local collage/uni and ask a lecturer to do it for you.
