    Log off problem

Just changed over the home pc. We now have my dads work pc, which for the most part runs ok. It is running xp, sp2 all updated and has 1 gb o ram. The problem comes when you try and log of your account to go back to select another user. Sometimes it will log off with no problems other times the hour glass appears but no log of. You can still select programs etc etc

I think the same thing happens when you ant to shut down sometimes. For his we have to go to switch user and then shut down form the user accounts screen.

Any idea what is causing this problem?

In the event viewer under application it has that warning sign and the source is event system.
