Hello! I'm new to posting to Hexus, so cheers, all.

I'm having a problem with my timeline. I just recently installed Premiere Pro onto my PC laptop and for some reason, it won't let me put my .avi files into the timeline. The timeline itself is actually grayed out, and it doesn't even have the video and audio buttons in the panel. The timeline tools are also grayed out as well. What's going on? I've used this program before on my home PC and was able to load it up just fine when I initially installed it.

I'd really appreciate if someone could help me out! Thanks.
