    Question Moving my MP3's

Hi! I listen to my mp3's on my main PC, and i use WMP, Is there any way i can copy my 5 star rated tracks over to a hard drive...and then put them on my laptop? I don't want to rip them off CD again, or open each directory and pick out individual tunes, cause there is quite a lot on that playlist...i want to sync them over?

I can sync files with WMP and a usb stick,. but i only have a 1GB stick.

i have winamp too, can i copy track from a playlist over to a new location?

thanks in advance for any suggestions

    Re: Moving my MP3's

You can only do it via a new CD or usb memory stick. Easiest way is to go on WMP and create a burn list, choose which songs you want (drag and drop into the 'burn list'.) enter a blank CD in the cd drive and click burn. Once thats burnt to the CD you just have to rip the CD to your laptop. Its the only way to do it im afraid, unless you transfer them to the usb stick and transfer them to your laptop that way.

    Re: Moving my MP3's

^ahh sim, all the mp3's are in different directories, and there is a few thousand, i'd have to go through each one no? i just thought there'd be an easier way to just copy the files of a playlist over to somewhere else.

Because he only wants the 5 star rated tracks and doesn't want to "open each directory and pick out individual tunes"

If WMP can sync to a USB pen drive, can it sync to a network share, or how about just to another folder on that PC?

    I'll have a play in a minute

hmm yea, i was wondering if there was a way to do it over the network, both machines are running vista and have folders shared.

I think it can only sync to removable media - like usb stick, phones, memory cards etc - i tried to do it with a external hard drive it didn't show up.

hmm if i can burn 'em to a few DVD's, then that will probably be the best for now.

    Re: Moving my MP3's

It still can be done in Windows with copy and paste. Here is how I would do it:

    1) Find all mp3 files using windows search or whatever its called in Vista. This will get all mp3s in one list.
    2) Sort by rating
    3) Copy all 5* files
    4) Paste all 5* files
    5) Job done
