    Asus P5N-D

    Hello, i just got a new computer with the following specs:

    Asus P5N-D
    Q6600
    9800GTx
    4GB RAM
    Antec Earthwatts 650W

    Now I've got a problem with my onboard sound card. I can hear sound but my microphone just isnt working. I had it working for 10 minutes, started playing Call of duty and 15 minutes later it was just gone, i nearly tried everything but still doesnt working. Sorry if this isnt the right thread.

    Thanks in advance.

    Make sure you have the microphone selected:

    -Open up sound properties (double click the speaker in system tray)
    -Options -> properties
    -Recording
    -Make sure you are using microphone

    On Vista
    -Right click speaker in system tray ->recording devices
    Set the Microphone to default

    I had the same problem on Vista, using MSN, where I had plugged the microphone into the PC, and it was in the list of recording devices, and set as defult, but MSN still would not recognise it.

    Turned out to be the booring traditional fix of turn it off and on again

    Worked for me
