    Left handed Mouse ?

I recently needed to swap from a PS2 mouse to USB.
I bought the Trust Laser MI6500X.
    It's a great, 5 button mouse,,,,
my problem is,,,, that although I'm right handed,,, I can only use my left hand for meeces ! (are there many of us about ?!?!)
The problem is that there are two buttons on the left of the mouse, which I keep hitting in error.
I've been on to Trust & they say that they don't make a left handed mouse at all !
I don't want to spend a fortune,,,, but is there a similar item - in left hand - out there ?
If not, is there a reasonable 3 button item with the same laser (!!) resolution as this one ?

    cheers to all readers

Logitech's left-handed MX 610 cordless laser is probably the best available

But there's also this (wireless laser) Cherry eVolution Ergo Shark-L

I'd like to buy a standard mouse that has buttons on both sides (so it can be used with left as well as right handed people) because I use the mouse with the right as well as the left hand (not at the same time though )

With the current crop of mice, I would end up having to buy two mice - one for each hand if I want the extra buttons

    Re: Left handed Mouse ?

I've since heard that there are a few people like me - right-handed but use mouse in left.
When I bought the Trust 6500, I didn't realise that it was a 5 button item, and at the time, wasn't really bothered about one.
I can now see the benefits of 5 buttons.

TRF: I don't want a wireless thing at the moment - & the MX610 is too expensive for me. It looks a good item, and has been recommended,,,,, but maybe that's because it's the only thing around !

Amjedm: What a predicament. If I were ambidextrous I'm not sure if I’d mind which side they were on,,,,

I'll keep looking then - but rekkon i'll end up with a 3 button item in the end.
I'll put any results here for other readers.

    all the best

    Re: Left handed Mouse ?

Am i missing something here or can you not just go into control panel and change the mouse settings from right handed to left handed, or is it something to do with the ergonomics of the mouse.

I wouldn't find it easy on the fingers or the mind (trying to remember where the buttons were)

I'm used to using the mouse with both hands so remembering the left/right buttons is not a problem (thank God)

Then you should've said you didn't want recommendations for wireless mice!

... the MX610 is too expensive for me.
Then you should've mentioned you were on a strict budget!

When you're asking for product recommendations, and have certain stipulations (i.e. limited budget/wired only), then it's important you mention them in your opening post, such that those of us who reply with suggestions, won't have wasted our time looking around for/posting links to products which you can't consider - for reasons we never knew about

    Re: Left handed Mouse ?

Do you need laser? The optical engine in the logitech MX series is fab, so just get an MX 310 type mouse. They're symmetrical and very cheap on fleabay usually.

thanks to all,,,, much food for thought.
I think it's down to the cheapest 3 button item for me,,,, until I actually need 5 (or more) buttons.

    thanks for your help.
