    Thermalright S-Type Clip?

    Thermalright S-Type Clip. HERE

    Has anyone used one?

    are they anygood?

as i'm considering getting one but i'm not sure if it's going to hold the cooler firmly down...

i'm considering getting one as my TRUE is mounted as such that the airflow comes in through the back of the case, hits the true (fan underneath and on top) which pushes the air up to the graphics card and interrupts airflow and unbalences things (i'll try and get a piccy in a bit...)...

so is that clip worth getting?

    Cheers,
    TAKTAK

lol, thats what that was for. I had thought it was a AMD socket clamp. We learn something new every day. If you dont get contact issues with the heatsink in the 90 turned position you should be fine. Since i'm in a good mood you can have mine as i have changed heatsinks, IFX-14 .

hmmm, thats interesting... that cooler seems (from the piccys on google ) to be uniform all the way around... so surely there would be nothing to gain from rotating the cooler or does it overhang on one edge?

i've just realised that this 'S' clip will let me have access to all of my RAM slots

I had the XP-120 before that, it may have come with that but they are very similar.

    Re: Thermalright S-Type Clip?

i was just amout to compliment you on your cable management for the first one as well

but ouchies, that must have cost some...

6 nf-s12's in a small section of the picture...

i've got 4 nf-p12's and it cost a bomb.. (nice and quiet tho )

so i'm guessing that the loudest thing in you case is the PSU?

nice choice of case aswell(looks like the cosmos, but i'm presuming that it is the cosmos s because of the amount of noctuas...?)

edit: lol me saying it must have cost some just looking at fans i've only just noticed the SLi'd 8800GTX's nice mobo too...

    Re: Thermalright S-Type Clip?

It is a 'S' indeed. It's the noisiest case i have used, I have tried sound proofing a bit and running Noctua's throughout. It is meant to be a gaming rig so noise is no longer such an issue since getting a laptop for the browsing, etc..

I do seem to spend a lot but i like playing. I am now looking at going to water around Xmas time, though at about £500 its not going to be cheap!!!

what speed are you running the noctuas at? cos i get no performance increase running at 1600RPM over 800RPM... just a huge sound difference

most i am running of molex's sp they are full pelt. I could easily get the rpm down but i am having so much rig instability atm that rpm is the least of my worries

I may well try and make a separate chamber around the psu as it gets hot and then overheats my lowest GFX card, 20 degrees over the top one!!!

    HERE
    then sigup on the right

then when you have access to the For sale forum and buy/sell something etc you can rate the user and give feedback

the same being true if you order from an etailer such as SCAN... you can rate your experience with them
