    Farting sounds from speakers

Can anyone help me with my speakers, sound card. I'm running vista 64 and my speakers have got a farting noise coming from them, really bad feedback.
I've cleaned out the drivers and re-installed them to but its still there any thoughts. Sound card is creative sb audigy.

    Re: Farting sounds from speakers

Have you tried plugging the speakers into a different device (such as an mp3 player) to see if the noise occurs on them? Sometimes you get a loud buzzing noise when you have a bad connection cable.
Also, it could be interferance from the motherboard. Ive had a similar problem to you, and its usually one of those two things.
If your mobo has an integrated sound card, try plugging your speakers into that.

Edit: Just an after thought, what things have you got near your speakers?

    Re: Farting sounds from speakers

Is the sound there all the time?

If it only occurs when playing music, games etc. at high volumes you could have blown one of the drives in the speakers. (giving you a fart sound)

If you have then it is a new set of speakers.

    Re: Farting sounds from speakers

Speakers farting usually means a ruptured diapragm... caused by using either too much bass or a loud pop and unfortunatley irrepairable. Only thing you can do is turn the volume to a low setting, but it sure wont hold up to any house-parties...

I have the problem with one of my logitech speakers, and sods law its the one with the volume control on so I cant switch it out for a spare. Its ok uptil the volume at which its able to be heard through thin walls

About the buzzing noise theory, thats from electrical feedback and if thats the case you have an input wire or port thats touching something conductive.

Also, if your 100 percent sure its a computer side problem, then remember, your using a Creative/Vista64 marriage, which 90% the time has problems.

    Re: Farting sounds from speakers

I had a similar problem with my speakers, but not all the time. I finally traced it to be my wireless router when transmitting/receiving. It seems my speaker amp was too close to the router and amplified the router signals through the speakers. I moved them away from each other and the problem has now gone.
    Hope this helps

I thnk you're onto something there fella. My amp was right next to my router which is a wireless one. So I've moved them apart and its better than before, less frequent. So now I'm up to my ears in wire messing around to move them further away from each other. Thanks
