    "No Signal"

My first thread about this was here Link.

Basically I was playing CoD 5 and all of a sudden the screen goes black and I get the "No Signal" message on both monitors, it started the other day like the card is giving up but its new. I bought a FPS 700W from Scan about 3 weeks ago to power the card.

It is slightly overclocked at 800/870 and my processor is clocked at 2.8 from 2.2 both clocked in gradual chunks.

    Temps (HWMonitor).
    CPU: Idle - 35 Min, Load - 49 Max
    GPU: Idle - 51 Min, Load - 78 Max

It was around 71 Max on GPU load but I tried to remove the red casing and I think I might of interrupted the thermalpaste. Also there are some pads, possible thermal sticky pads on the back headspreader which I removed (the headspreader) whilst trying to remove the red casing possibly breaking the seal making the temps rise.

Earlyier today I alt tabbed CoD, went to go back on to exit and I got BSOD! Didn't have time to read the error as I had to go out.

    Any ideas?

So you took the HSF off the graphics card and took the heat pads away? the heatpads are usually for the memory modules so that was probably a very very bad idea. If the card was new and you have removed the heatsink etc... you might have voided your warrenty

I haven't removed ANYTHING permanently. I wanted to remove the red case to try and cool it better but I couldn't due to the heatsink which in the process had some pressure put on it which may have caused the thermalpaste "seal" to break and the heatpads on the heatspreader are still there, but if they have to be sticky to make the best of seals then this wouldn't be the case as I just put it all back together without renewing any thermal compounds. Also the warranty dosen't matter.

    Re: "No Signal"

Well those temps are perfectly fine, the CPU will be fine upto 65-70c under serious stress and the GPU will be fine upto 105c. I doubt the heatpads will have come apart from the modules just from fiddling like that so i wouldnt stress about it.

Maybe be a driver or corrupted game file.

Thanks for the fast replys. I have the latest drivers and corrupted game file is possible as PunkBuster keeps kicking me due to "restricted packet flow" and "corrupted game file" but on CounterStrike: Source sometimes the screens lock up black and I'm forced to reboot. Anyway I've set my CPU clocks back to normal as the overclock might of been unstable and symptons just appearing after a couple weeks of stress put on it. I'll see how it goes and report back soon.
