    pls delete mods

    hi ive just noticed that my laptops cpu is running @1ghz even under full load ?.Its the amd sckt 939 3800 dual core .What has gone wrong .Cpu-z and windows report the same speed

    Switch your power profile from "Max battery" to "Laptop" perhaps?

    yup, the Laptop settings in Windows are trying to save you electricity.


    Go into Control Panel and find the Power Options.

    If you go into the advanced options in power saving you can choose the range of speeds you want the OS to throttle between so you can pick the best power/performance ratio for your needs.
