I have an Accelero S2 and will be taking it off from my 8800GT and using it on my HD4850.
BUT ...
the gum on the RAM chip heatsinks has dried out! What can I do to stick them to the RAM chips?

cheap postage from chilledpc and very fast service as toms got a small outfit
Tnx Barney. At £2 incl. p&p, they r cheap. Will order some.
But, I have also found these solutions :
1. Use thermal paste
2. Use 4 'dots; of superglue at the 4 ends ( dip needle in superglue and then touch each corner )
3. Use Pritt stick
4. If the gum is simply dry and not completely worn off, use a screwdriver to hold it next to a iron or hairdryer and let the heatsink heat up. Then, the gum will liquefy and u can press it on the RAM chip.
I used the Pritt stick method ( for the time being ) for 4 of my RAMsinks cos the gum had completely word off.
all 4 of those are fail boat options, pritt stick will seep and kill the card when it shorts the ram once warm
super glue, well that guy wants a swift kick in the nads for being so stupid
thermal paste will allow the heatsinks to move off and short out something expensive.
and warming the dried out pads will not work as they have already become an insulator instead of a conductor
your better off using an elastic band to hold things in place and get that prick stick off before it damages the card.
i still cannot get over some moron suggesting a water based glue like pritt stick
Mate, found those solutions after researching extensively on the net. AC MX-2 is the thermal paste most ppl recommend.
lets hope tom posted you those thermal tape strips today, you really are asking for it using ghetto methods like that.
you missed one other gheto mod I've heard of
5 make a mixture of epoxy cement (araldite) and arctic silver.
