advise on underclocking gpu on laptop

hi guys,

i was thinking of underclocking my gpu on my laptop but im unsure on a few things:

first of all what software should/could i use

then there is the quality loss of my graphics, i use it to watch videos and small internet games like on miniclip. do you think i will get a huge loss of quality.

the gpu in question is the geforce go 6200, core and memory clock run at 300mhz

RivaTuner will probably do it.

Chip speed doesn't alter image 'quality' directly, but how fast it can do calculations. This means that if you set a lower quality in game, it can do more calculations thus you get more FPS.

Why do you want to do this exactly though? The 6200 is slow, without needing to underclock it

Also consider the extra heat it's going to generate. Lappy's aren't the good at heat dissipation at the best of times.

huh, ok im a bit confused now, will underclocking make the laptop run hotter, the reason i want to underclock it is so that it runs cooler.

i have tried rivertuner and it has allowed me to lower the clock speed and core,
