I realise this is a royal pain in the @rse but I would have tried staright after the clean build before I put anything on including itunes and AV to see if it picked up the pod as a device/disk, then checked after installing AV then itunes to see where the issue is but that is a rebuild for you. Do you have access to another usb cable. Another thought is my ipod touch really doesnt like USB hubs so straight into a mobo usb port

Re: ipod touch doesnt work work win 7 pro x64

i did try that and it was seen perfectly fine. then installed itunes first and worked perfectly, then installed av and bang it strikes again! i disconnected all my other hard drives in the rig before installing win 7 on a brand new hdd and had installed nothing else, not even allowed windows update to occur, before first plugging in the touch. sees it as a camera at first (which i understand is normal) and then after removing that, installing itunes and plugging back it the ipod was detected by device manager as apple mobile device, itunes saw it and allowed a sync to it. After av goes on, device manager still see's it and is functioning correctly but itunes doesnt and takes forever to load. got one more thing to try when i get home which the tech support guys at kaspersky have advised but otherwise i'm stumped
