    No Signal Input

Hello, i recently bought a new motherboard and Processor.

    Asus P5QPL-AM Intel G41 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

    Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.60GHz (800FSB)

I'm also using a GeForce 8800GT and some Corsair DDR2 RAM.

When i turn the computer on all the fans run fine and the power lights come on, but my monitor displays "No Signal Input" after about 2 seconds of black screen. I've been reading on these forums about the problem but still cant find a solution.

I'm currently at someone elses house and dont have my computer at hand but can anyone suggest some things that could be causing the problem please? Thanks.

    Re: No Signal Input

Does the fan on your card spins very fast while making lots of noise?

    Re: No Signal Input

The monitor is telling it's getting nothing inbound.
    1) Cables connected correctly ?
    2) GPU - Seated correctly ? Power cables ? PSU suppolying enough ? Does it's fan spin up ?
Can you swap in another card from somewhere ?

    Re: No Signal Input

The Power Supply is 500w, im not sure on the make or model. All the fans spin correctly and the GFX card fan doesnt make any irregular noises. I've tryed using another card i have and it doesnt work with that one either.

    Re: No Signal Input

I just tried using the on board graphics and still no luck.

And yes the 8800GT has been used in another machine and it works fine.

    Re: No Signal Input

Does the monitor and cable work with another machine ?
If it does then we may be looking at a PSU not supplying power to the GPU. I saw a thread recently where a member had this problem and solved it by using another power cable from the PSU.
Have you re-seated the GPU recently ?

    Re: No Signal Input

I tried my monitor and its cable in another computer and it works. The GPU and PSU in question i am using right now and there are no problems. Its just when i try and use them with the other Motherboard and CPU i cant seem to get display on my monitor. I'm quite sure that they are compatible because i asked around a lot on some other forums before i purchased them.

    Re: No Signal Input

We've eliminated the monitor, the PSU, the GPU and the cable. So now we need to know if the mainboard or CPU has an issue. Does the other machine post ?
Your mainboard doesn't seem have a system speaker so you may need to buy one in order to hear the error beeps, which would tell us if it is failing to post.

    Re: No Signal Input

I'm fairly sure they're a standard connector. I can see the connector on your mainboard manual,
    ftp://www1.dcshop.ro/produse/pdf/18276.pdf
I would look on the bay or similar to find a system speaker. Shouldn't cost more than a few quid and will tell you if your system is booting, and if not, why not.

I'm confused. I thought you said that combination booted to windows and worked OK ?
You had 2 machines. You swapped the GPU, the PSU and the monitor to the working machine and it still worked. Yes ?

The idea here is to swap out one component at a time to see when it stops booting.
You have done that with the above components. Now we need to look at the CPU/mainboard and the boot process to see where it fails. By connecting a speaker and listening to the beeped error messages (translations in your manual) you can tell what the problem may be.

From the sound of it the working machine has a system speaker connected. If it's connected by wires to a speaker on the chassis, you could take the non-functioning system out of it's case, assemble it to a mnimum on a piece of cardboard, and connect it to the same wires and see what happens. MNore simply it would be best to just buy one. I believe that Maplins may have them.

    Re: No Signal Input

OK sorry for all the confusion lol. Let me start over. This is my current setup.

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-8I915PMD
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 Single Core 3GHz
    Graphics Card: GeForce 8800GT
    RAM: Corsair DDR2

I want to swap my Motherboard and Processor with:

    Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.60GHz (800FSB)
    Asus P5QPL-AM Intel G41 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

When i start my computer with the current setup i get NO BEEPS =) and everything works absolutely fine. But when i put the other Motherboard and Processor in i get the "No Signal" on my monitor. All the fans are spinning fine and i get no beeps also.
