    Re: Display Driver nvlddmkm

Alright then, I'll run ATiTool for a while longer (no errors for 7 minutes, not exactly thorough testing yet ), then run RTHDRIBL (catchy name!) for a little while, then put memtest on and go to bed.

Hopefully by morning I'll have something giving me an error. Otherwise I'm back to square one.

    Thanks for your help guys.

RTHDRIBL, don't really know what I'm meant to be doing. Messed around with it for a while, didn't crash. Ran the demo, didn't crash. I'm assuming that's a good thing, haha? It's fun though .

LoL..what exactly is it? At the moment to me, it;s just a collection of letters .

I assume from the SCAN post http://forums.hexus.net/1817580-post3.html that ATi-Tool and RTHDRIBL is supposed to run at the same time.

    Re: Display Driver nvlddmkm

Left memtest on all night, by morning there were no errors. Stress tested graphics card some more, still no errors.

Looks like both are working fine. A driver issue, then?

    HMM!! A mystery!

If you have a spare HDD, try installing Vista on that, install latest nvidia drivers, then patch up windows and see what happens. Install a game and see if it crashes? Or try OCCT and see if that crashes?

Well that is what I would try next.

    Re: Display Driver nvlddmkm

Thing is, I just did a fresh install of vista, and cannot install the latest nvidia drivers as I just get "no signal" on my monitor when I do so, then have to roll it back in safe mode.

Windows is fully patched up right now, SP2 installed, all updates installed as well.

Would installing vista onto another hard drive and doing what you said actually be worthwhile, considering what I've just said?

oO! Sound svery odd...ok, don't bother with what I said if your install is fresh. Have you tried older versions of the Nvidia drivers to see if they fix your problems?

What would be interesting is if you could take out your GPU, slap it in another machine and if the problems follow you know for sure it's your GPU.

This is one awkward head scratcher!!!

Hmm...does OCCT work or does it still crash when running the GPU error test? How long did you leave ATi-Tool and RTHDRIBL programs running?

Or..because this is tiredness talking...have you tried simply re-seating the card and the associated PCI-E power cables?

    Re: Display Driver nvlddmkm

Oh yeah, OCCT GPU memtest still crashes actually. ATiTool and RTHDRIBL never gave me any errors, ran them for several hours.

I'm also incredibly tired and have not had time to do anything other than start programs and leave to do their thing whilst I do other stuff. Won't actually have a minute to myself until Saturday, where I have a few hours in which I can test loads of stuff (like re-seating card, more stress testing, running card in another machine, etc).

Thanks for your help, wish I had more time (stupid work, school and projects!) to actually troubleshoot this problem though.

    *scratch head*
Good luck this weekend - I'd personally wait till then than try and troubleshoot in between real life.
