Still nothing in process list? Even sorted by CPU?

You made this for your 1000th post? Shame

You need to make sure you're looking at all the processes in the task manager, to start with. Click the "show processes from all users" button on the processes tab, then arrange them by CPU usage descending, and go to the top of the list to find the one that's pulling so much CPU. Make sure you have the PID column showing.

If it's sidebar.exe, remove all your sidebar widgets, then add them back one at a time until you find out which one kills your CPU and stop using that one If it's svchost.exe or dllhost.exe or (I think) rundll.exe, note the PID and look in the services list to see which services are running under that process. If it's an exe you don't recognise, google it or post it in here. If you're sure you're looking at all processes and there really isn't anything in the list using the CPU, then you've got a more serious problem, I'm afraid... but that really shouldn't be the case.

p.s. the other option is to click the Resource Monitor button on the performance tab, and look at the "Average CPU" column - that should tell you what's using the CPU most...
