    Change proxy settings with just one click

    Trying to help out my mum here who stuggles with pc's at time so i want to make everything easier for her.

    She currently works for a school and has been given a laptop to use. Now it connects fine at the school (as you'd hope) but when you get it home you need to uncheck the proxy configuration box (IE by the way) to acess the internet.

    Now she struggles to remember how to do this so i was wondering if there was a way that i could have some kind of icon on the desktop that she could click on for when she's at home and then click on it again and it reverts the settings back to use for the school.

    Now i would say to her to go to the IT dept at school but from what she says it sounds pretty rubbish and from the state of the windows install on the laptop i'd have to agree.

    So is this thing possible guys as i'm sure it is and how would i go about doing it.
    Thanks

    Re: Change proxy settings with just one click

    Doubt she has admin rights, but if she does:

    Write 2 reg files, let's says: Home.reg and Office.reg and place on desktop

    On notepad:

    Regedit4

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
    "MigrateProxy"=dword:00000001
    "ProxyEnable"=dword:00000001
    "ProxyHttp1.1"=dword:00000000
    "ProxyServer"="http://ProxyServername:80"
    "ProxyOverride"="<local>"

    Office: Replace Proxyname to the appropriate proxy box

    Home: replace 00000001 to 00000000 - i.e., disabled

    The admins at school should setup a GPO to change this settings automatically when connected to corporate network and when not connected, i.e., disabled.....Anyway, hope this helps
