    Exclamation Resolution Issues Windows 7

Before I upgraded to Windows 7 I was running Vista and I bought a BENQ2410HD 24" screen which I connected via VGA to my Geforce BFG 8800 gtoc2. windows display options did not recognise the screens max resolution of 1920 x 1080 so I had to go to the Nvidia control panel in order to achieve the resolution. Since upgrading to Windows 7 I am unable to get the resolution any higher than 1600 x 1200, not even using the Nvidia control centre...

I've tried using the latest Windows 7 drivers from Nvidia as well as older Vista drivers but I am still presented with the same problem...

    Any suggestions?

would using a dvi - dvi cable fix the issue?

I had exactly the same problem also with a BenQ screen which runs with my Secondary PC (the 22" version of your one, also 1080p native)

Bizzarely my problem was solved by switching from VGA to DVI->VGA adaptor, then back to VGA. Strangely this only happened on my latest retail Windows 7 install never on W7 RC1 (always worked perfectly with same monitor), also it happened both with integrated 690G AMD graphics, and AMD 4670.

You can try installing the BenQ drivers from website as well, although you have to overide "show compatible drivers only". This solved the problem once for me, but then it came back

Seems like something very strange is going on.

Also monitor is recognised as Plug and Play when it works, and non plug and play when it doesnt - but it's the same monitor :S

I've got a 2400HD and have never had a problem with DVI - seems like you're both using VGA.

I'd recommend you both to consider DVI or HDMI to try and resolve this. For the few quid the cable costs, you also get a better quality picture.
