    Crashing

So I installed Windows Seven x64 in December and after installing Cod4 and playing it a few weeks back it started to crash my system during use, at no specific point, without warning and the only way to recover was to hit the power switch.

I figured I had a graphics card issue and since I needed a new card, replaced the 8600 GTS i was running with a new ATI 5670 but the problem still remains and I have no idea why its occuring but I really want to sort this out since sometimes I can play for hours without it crashing, other time it'll die within a few minutes of playing.

Windows reports that there was an error when I reboot and the latest 2 minidump files are here:

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2899775/mini...0-15968-01.dmp

I have also done a Memtest and have found no memory errors.

Hopefully someone with a little more experience is able to help me out.

    Thanks, Aden.

If it's blue screens (turn off automatic restart under performance tab to check) and the ram has been checked then most likely the hard drive. Grab the relevant manufacturers tools and pop them on a disc or try hiren's boot cd.

    Re: Crashing

I have the same problem as well. Have no idea now what is causing it. It happens about 1 to 3 times a week where i will be surfing the web, playing online video in Firefox and all of a sudden the PC will crash and mouse will not move?

I have ran all sorts of tests on the PC and benchmarking software and all report all is fine.

All i can do is reboot and all is fine again but it is getting a right pain when it happens as i end up losing any work i have done at that point.

Event viewer just reports "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

    No blue screen just crash.
Have tried updating all drivers but no joy.
