There is another DC-DC PSU inside the laptop that will change that voltage into 12v, 5v and so on then another type of PSU on the motherboard will supply very accurate voltages for anything 'sensitive' like the CPU. It might just be a duff power supply. Expect to pay a bit for the official ones, as I said earlier a universal one might be a good idea.
Its just trying to find an official one Found a number that supplies the part for the laptop maker, but won't be able to order till monday, and they might have to order it in as there is none in stock. Wish some high street had them. Will try Currys etc tomorrow.

For example found this site http://www.laptop-ac-adapters.co.uk/...ter-29147.html but on the picture it says 'replacement ac.....' So not sure if its genuine. Would call them but no phone number or email (well clicking on contact us starts the outlook set up program)

    Hi Aled,
I did a little looking around, and it seems like the original Fujitsu-Siemens part number for your power supply is adp-65hb , which is a 20v 3.25A DC output supply. If you fire that part number into the Amazon search tool, you should find a seller called NCS Ltd. who claim to sell an original part for £19.99 + £4 shipping. I'd post the link but the forum tool won't let me (not enough posts).
    HTH.

    Re: Laptop power supply

Thanks! Going to try and find a genuine one first from Fujitsu Siemens (or a company that supplies the parts etc) That one is not an original as there is no Fujitsu Siemens branding, but it does have the right input/output.

But I will save that, cheers.

    Re: Laptop power supply

Just found this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujitsu-Siem...ref=pd_cp_ce_2 which is almost identical to the one I need. Both made by delta electronics, and output/input are the same plus they look very similar.

Has anyone heard of Lishin as a maker of chargers?
