    No Graphics Output

    Hi Guys

I've got a strange one with my grandparents PC and it's a while since I've been in desktop support so I'm struggling a bit. Basically my gran found that when she boot up her PC it would come up with the BIOS then the starting Windows screen and then the monitor would go into standby.

I went out and got exactly the same thing, when I went into safe mode I could just make out the screen but there was red dots all over the screen which made the actual desktop almost impossible to make out.

I thought it was maybe a driver issue so I took it home and when I got home my monitor shows nothing, it always stays in standby. I have tried a different graphics card and I have tried disconnecting and removing the RAM, hard drive, CD/DVD drives 3.5" floppy but still nothing.

    Anyone got any bright ideas?

    Thanks

Often if you can see the BIOS ok and then nothing much after that it could be the refresh rate that the computer is set to is too high for the monitor your using.

    Re: No Graphics Output

I know that's the weird thing, I'm not even seeing the BIOS on my screen, it just goes into standby.

Plus with their monitor in Safe Mode it didn't work and that uses a really low res.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Re: No Graphics Output

Could it possibly be a motherboard fault, if the graphics card slot is touch and go, or possibly the processor?
