    r9700pro troubles - no 3d apps.

    Hi guys.

I got a r9700 today, moving from my ti4200. I uninstalled the nvidia drivers, rebooted, put the raddy in, installed latest ati drivers and rebooted. I went to test it in 3dmark2k1 and it crashed in the load screen of the first test, it looked like it was going to load, but didnt.

I then tried cs, i had the same problem, i could set up a server, just as it is loading up it crashes.

So i concluded that it cant do 3d apps.

I uninstalled the drivers, downloaded driver cleaner 3.2 and did everything possible on there to remove drivers from ati and nivdia. I then rebooted and installed the ati drivers again. Rebooted, and installed dx9.0b, and rebooted once again.

I then ran 3dmark2k1 again, same thing...thought "ffs" and am now posting here as to what to do.

So, anyone had this problem, or anyone know how to fix it?

I will probably format this afternoon and see if that does anything helpful.

    Thanks guys.
    Will.

I think thats because that card has two ports, the DVI and D-SUB and its probably recognised by windows as one being AGP and the other PCI (?)

It does it on all ATi cards.

Uninstall the ATi drivers, boot into safe mode and use driver cleaner to get rid of the nVidia drivers then restart then install the latest ATi drivers.

    Update:
The 9700 works in streetsters shuttle rig. So i dont know if it is a power problem, or a driver problem...but the card deffo works.

check the 'troubleshoot' tab of the advanced display settings, make sure its set to full... there is no reason for it not to work as i had to uninstall and then remove my nvidia drivers before whacking in your 9700...

I uninstall everything graphical i could think of: dx9, ati drivers, nivdia drivers, riva tuner, omega drivers.

Then i unplugged everything im not using, to make sure the PSU was doing a little as possible. Reinstalled the omega drivers. Then i booted up and had servere instability - crashing just loading windows, managed to load 3dmark2k1 and it crashed in that.

So, later on i will try again...getting me so frustrated...
