Have you patched generals? It might just be a CnC bug.

That is still a fairly decent computer - have you tried reinstalling games that don't work, defragging or even reinstalling Windows?

Try removing the overclocking on everything that you have done (put it all back to stock speeds) and see if it works. Occasionally games dont like it when things are overclocked and can do some weird wonderful stuff.

or getting a VGA silencer, better cooler and some decent case fans if you haven't already...

How powerful is your PSU?? 300w??

Give some examples of other games crashing etc.

no it really is only generals. i have reinstalled it and installed the patch but no go. ive got a thermaltake 420 watt silent purepower psu so i dont know if thats the problem. ive also got pretty decent cooling with a thermaltake damier black full tower case, model v5000A. My cpu has a thermaltake silent boost heatsink and a vantec tornado 80mm strapped to that. Other games work flawlesley like Rise Of Nations and that has about the same needs in terms of harware.

i hope that answers your ?'s.

You can make certain it's not the motherboard by running Memtest, and check general system stability (CPU, memory, motherboard, PSU) by using Prime95.

if other games are fine than surely its just generals and not you're setup as you say...

    seems strange though

have you updated the cards drivers ?? and updated direct x even ???
