How to get rid of all my partitions?

I just got another 200GB SATA disk and want to install it, I know how to full install it but the current SATA disk I have had got 4 partitions on and I want to get rid of them fully and reinstall windows and make new partitions. I can copy over all the data I need to the new drive and then do this process.

When I have tried to merge partitions in the past using norton partition magic it has given me errors!

Sounds like you just need to copy the data you want across and then do a windows re-install and delete the partitions and format one or more patitions from there, equally you could use partition magic to merge them, i've not had any problems in the past with it

Yep, when XP or whatever gets to the install on which drive it gives you the option to create or delete partitions etc

I would HIGHLY recommend 'PowerQuest Partition Magic 8' it's an awesome program with loads of features and is very easy to use.. I recently (well about 3 days ago!) (Before this I backedUp Data on DVD's) Did exactly as you said and merged my 4 existing partitions into 1 using 'Partition Magic'. .I installed my new drive and continued to reinstall Windows, once into Windows I used partition magic to create new partitions ad redistribute the space from my now 2 (physical) drives. .

Used to have just one 80gb.. Then bought a 120gb to add to it..

Great tool works well. . and would recommend. But as said you can delete partitions within the Windows Setup. .
