Omg My Bios Is Screwed

I have an msi mother board. i recently downloaded the latest flash bios update but it screwed up my start up seetings so i decieded using my vast wisdom to start playing around in the bios. this was clearly a mistake as when i came out of it and my pc restarted the monitor could no longer detect any video input. i spent the nxt 3 hours taking the graphics card out and checking it over and putting it back in and trying random **** with cables. Any suggestions?!?!?! if i could just see what i was doing when the computer booted im sure i would be able to fix the problem as all i wud need to do is reset the bios back to defaults!!! any ideas please!!!!

to do that do i have to take out the bios bat for 10 mins and then put it back in or somthing? will this not further damage cmos?

Have a look on your M/board for a jumper with 3 pin sometimes it's called JBAT when you have found it remove the power cable from your computer remove jumper and put the jumper on to pins 2 & 3 for about 5 seconds then put the jumper back to it's original position replace the power lead and boot up.

If you have your M/board manual then it will explain it in there

1st rule of overclocking/changing bios settings............. find the location of the cmos jumper or on most motherboards press insert key while booting should re-set bios to defaults.

Most Bioses have a "Fail-Safe Setting" and/or "Restore Bios Defaults" setting.

You should only ever change one setting at a time so you can easily reverse the change.
