    DVD ROM problem

    Ive just formatted my pc and ive done all the windows updates (excluding sp2). installed my drivers etc etc.

    anyway im installing my games and my dvdrom is installing games of cds perfectly fine. but it isnt recognising games on DVDs (half life 2 , unreal tournament 2004 etc)

    my dvd drive is a Sony dvd-rom ddu1612

    any ideas why this is , or how to fix it?

    When you go into the BIOS and view IDE attached devices does it show up in there?
