I have a fairly old 21" Sony Trinitron monitor (500ps), which has decided to stop working. When i turn it on the light goes green for a while and it emits a slight buzzing sound, then after a few seconds it goes to powersave mode. No matter what I do, I can't get it to work.
I have heard that trinitrons are pretty fragile, but I've had 2 triinitron monitors break in the same month, this and an Apple one, which does almost exactly the same thing. I would really like to get it going again,(or even both fo them), as it was probably the best monitor i have ever used.
Either this is a pretty big design fault, or there is an easy way of fixing them. Does anyone know what the problem could be and how I could fix it?(I understand that this is a pretty specialised question, but everywhere else I ask I get no answer). Or is it because both of the monitors were pretty old, and Trinitrons just have a (much) smaller lifespan?
