    Repairing scratched CDs

I've got a (fairly expensive) software install CD that I can't use at them moment due to a pretty large scratch (not deep, just long) that causes some key files to be unreadable.

Does anyone use any repair kits that they swear work, since getting replacement media out of Microsoft is a hard task? Any secret tips to revive the disk?

    Thanks in advance folks!

I use one of thos CD rescue machines, skip doctor, they've rescued more than one of my CD's after it's been battered by the kids or the dog.

Brasso's good for light scratched, but for deeper ones you need something more heavy duty.
