Unhappy XP reinstall partition problem! ARGH!!!!

have a very odd problem which is driving me round the bend!!

decided to reinstall XP on to my computer.
I have 2 partitions D and E. one is for windows the other is for programmes, music etc.

Formatted and reinstalled windows on the windows partition, everything going fine i thought.

When i started windows everything was still on my main drive ie. E, but it wasn't coming up in the windows start menu. the programmes are there they are just not recognised by windows because they are on the other partition.

Same with my ATI drivers, they are on the E drive, but it is as thought they dont exist.

Is there a clever way to sort this out, or have i got the prospect of reinstalling all my programmes etc?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thank you.

If you've destroyed your other Windows installation, then there isn't really a way to get back the programs without reinstalling them. You could have backed up the registry and then restored it on the new install, but I like a clean slate.

If I was you Chris123 I would reinstall your applications on the Windows Partition and use the other partition for your music/downlaods. Then take an image once all applications are installed.
