    Game crashes

I just bought some new PC parts and after having trouble getting the PC to start I eventaully got it working..

I installed B&W2 and the F.E.A.R demo, played it for about 5 minutes and it crashed..

Restarted the PC manually, tried again and it crashed after the EXACT same amount of time.

The crash involves the sound looping and the monitor going off...

I had problems with this on my old PC (with my AGP gfx card)... Back then I just had to change the AGP Aperature size and it worked fine.. But seeing as though my new card is PIC-Express what the hell do I do?!

    SPECS:

    7800GTX
    Abit AN8 (fatal1ty)
    160GB Seagate Barracuda
    1gig RAM
    550W (Not true power) PSU

Before I saw the Wattage of the PSU you're using, I first suspected the PSU.

However, it may still cause problems, as you state it is not 'True Power' of 550W.

What brand is your PSU? Is it a generic one?

The PSU is more than likely the source of the issue.

Check what others have had to say about Q-Tec's HERE

I would state that its likely to be the power supply as there can be known issues with the Q-Tec using high end components.

Therefore if it was my system I would change the PSU to a branded one such as Tagan or seasonic.

    Regards,

Yeah, all the guys above me are totally right. It is well known that Q-Tec PSUs are trouble-makers.

My advice, the only way to know for sure that your PSU is causing the problem, is to replace it with a decent one of at least 480W (TRUE POWER) of a well known and decent manufacturer like OCZ, PC Power & Cooling, Antec, Enermax, Thermaltake, Tagan, etc.

    GOOD LUCK.
