    ebay & cs2 why so cheap?

    Hi

    Been browsing looking to buy photo editing software and i cannot believe the amount of adobe cs2 being sold,the sellers say...full prog, valid serials, fully updateable! so come on whats the catch? If they are not legit can i lose the prog from adobe or worse when i go and update also could it be a scam to take your credit card details on payment? I know this is too good to be true as the £5 price suggests but if there is a loophole in adobe's system then i'll be glad to take advantage because £1000+ for software is no joke

    A lot of pirated software is sold over ebay, and crackers these days always get different levels of success for themselves, so who knows if you are able to illegally download updates through the software despite not using a legit serial or something.

    Best thing to do is report the auction to ebay and ignore it. Its definitely pirated, and totally illegal

    the moral of the story on ebay is that if it looks too good to be true then it almost definitely is.

    It's also possible that the software may not even exist, so you send your money and receive nothing at all.

    One way to check this is to read the seller's feedback and see if there are identical comments from supposedly different users. If so, it's definitely bogus.

    Another possibility is that the postage charges might be over-inflated. There's even been reports of cheap items being listed with delivery charges of £300!

    Cool yep

    is definitely illegal stuff. Bought some once, for 20 quid, on the off chance it was a lucky deal. Turns out the 'dealer' has someone working on the inside at Adobe in the States, so he is able to get legit serials for the pirated software. Actually, come to think abuot it, doesn't even have to be pirated - can just be a demo which you activate with the fraudulent serial

    I ended up getting the best deal: Adobe Video Collection. Got me After Effects Pro 6.5 (usually about 1000 quid on its own) + Photoshop CS + Audition + Encore + Premiere Pro for 470 quid - normally about 1500

    my recommendation is you can ONLY count on the auctions that include the manuals

    Software on eBay can be dodgy, as outlined here.

    Given the nature of the thread I think everything's been said that needs to be, so let's quit while we're ahead...
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Without wanting to tread on Steve's toes here, I just want to add a comment.
    The "insider" story is utter non-sense and is used frequently in pirate software circles.
    Its just someone generating serials using a keygen. Most company’s take the wrong approach when it comes to blocking serials. They don’t note down every serial they have ever issued and cross-check it against those, they just block the ones that are used the most common, and providing the serial your using fits their serial validation algorithm, it'll let you update.
    So, whoever you paid so much to get this software if probably rubbing their hands with glee after earning all that by hitting the "generate code" button in their keygen of choice.
