    Agp....

Ouft I have a litle problem which is slowly developing into a big one...

Basically I was one of the unlucky ones who bought a new pc the month PCI-E was released.... So yea ive got AGP...
The prob is half of the new games coming out just wont run smoothly on my system! Its not the processing power or a questiong of getting more RAM its just the ATI 9200 128mb....
My current specs: P4 HT 3.2Ghz, 1.5gb ram some of it corsair and like 220gb Hdd.....
The issue is I dont want to get a new mobo, new RAM just so i can get PCI-E.... cos its not really worth it....

SO, what AGP cards out there do you lot think could run say.... HL2 lost coast, F.E.A.R, smoothly?
Cos they wont run on my ****ty card atm...
    lookin at £200-£300...
    Thanks!

well you are looking at either a 6800 ultra loud and power hungary but blisterly fast or a
x850pe both of these are between that price bracket, in my opinion the 6800 is faster and arent dead yet as new reincarnations of the card are still being made so i would go for the either xfx or bfg version

My mate got a nice ATI X800 256Mb, which is on AGP (only around £150), and runs Battlefield 2 perfectly. You could get one of those for until you wanna take teh plunge for a new mobo and PCI-E card.

I still use an AGP 6800 GT(XFX). Works fine for me on Doom3 & FEAR.

most UK vendors have dried up their AGP performance cards like the 6800 range, I would suggest u look on ebay and grab a GT for around £150 or start savin for an AMD PCIe based system

6800gt or x800xl is bang for buck country.
