Cant click on desktop icons

Sometimes i cant click on any icons on the desktop, just right click properties will work.
Also my pc sometimes frezzes and IE likes to not respond. Everything seems slow, and i did find a trojan backdoor virus via AVG and it has been "deleted" so im now not sure what to do

Any ideas?

Perhaps a good idea to rule out spyware. Try Lavasoft Ad-aware or Spybot Search & Destroy. If you don't have them installed already make sure to update after installing.

ran both scans mentioned above plus like 3 others

turn off system restore if its on and re run all your scans starting with the antivirus.

tried that too no avail, it even crashed once during a scan in safe mode

Go into the registry and check

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
Explorer]

The key "NoViewContextMenu" should be set to 0.

Run Rootkit Revealer to check for rootkits, but if you have had a confirmed infection it is recommended to clean install as there is no way to be certain whether it was truly removed or what it may have broken while it was present.
