    heatsink help!!

What the hell is up with it? I read the custom PC review and they said: "It just screws straight on"...erm, no it doesn't - or does it. It has a backplate but do you have to use it? Can't I just screw it on? I'm so annoyed because I've just ripped every cable etc out of my pc as it wouldn't boot to find i just needed to remove and re-attach my PCI-E power cable - so I really CANNOT be ***** with removing my whole motherboard

Edit: I have posted in hardstuff - but I need answers

no worries mate, i dont have an evo, but looking at it, it just uses the same screw holes that hold the a64 mounting bracket together. i have a thermalright si-120 and that came with some different length screws to replce the original ones out of the motherboard. if you are lucky, when you take the original ones out, the backplate wont fall off, it should be pretty straightforward.

failing that, youll have to take the motherboard out to fit it....20 min job

Yeah, I took the motherboard out and installed the default one. It *seems* to be working ok...I just hope it continues to do so! I've been without a proper graphics card for nigh on two months, so I would actually cry if my X1800XT went tits up/or any other piece of my PC.
