currently got the volts at 1.5 and Ram at 233mhz 11xmultiplier at 247. And it last about 2 mins on Prime before an error. Any idea what steps to take next?
Cheers lads

Need more info ie the stepping if you have it and the type of mobo and Ram you have ?
Anyone seen my opteron?
Make sure your RAM can handle 233MHz by running memtest - should be at 2.8v and loose timings - see PC Modding's review.
If it can, try upping the CPU to 1.525v.
Also make sure the HTT multiplier is set to 3.
the spec is in "my system" the stepping is CABGE. Mobo Abit AT8 ram 4x512 Corsair XMS3200C2PRO

make sure the htt multi is set to 3 other wise the whole system buss will be exceeding a thousand and this could make for instability...
You should be able to get 2.7 easily.
Firstly i cant find the bus speed... and secondly a bit nooby here and kind find the HTT multi on this stupid bios layout

Any ideas lads, i had no prob understanding my Asus bios but abit is confusing me...

I'm no expert on A64 steppings, but I recall reading that the CABGE (aka cabbage) steppings are not the best overclockers.
ok, so u suggest keeping the settings i statred aboe but drop to 3 or 4?

ok i wil ltry on 4 then i guess

I would stick the RAM on the 333 divider (DRAM clock) too.
i put it on 333 and tried dropping the HTT multiplier to 4 and 3, with also try 10x270 and 11x 246 both to no avail. My PC will either shut down just before it enters windows or crash during a game of CS:Source. I can think wot else to try from my knowledge. I tried playing with the cpu voltage putting it as high at 1.55.
Anyone got any other ideas?
Regards

More volts, cabge are not the best, 2.6/2.7 but you will probably need more vcore to achieve 247 stability, look on the bright side, they do seem to run a little more cool.
==edit==
are you running 4 sticks ram, try it with 2, you can also drop the divider to take the ram out of the equation
i am running 4 sticks, jsut bought another 2, so would rather not take them out again
