Photoshop challenge for anyone up for a task.

    Heya folks,

I have a small lack of skill when it comes to more pro-level photoshopping. So ofcourse when your asked to remove items from pictures and make it look like they were never there, you tend to scratch your head a bit.

This is just so with 3 pictures I've been asked to edit, but so far all my efforts have rendered the photo looking like some modern-artsy congield thing.

Is it possible that I can push for someone to have a bash on here? If you do find your successfull, do tell us the hows and where-fors so I needn't bother you again

Heres the pictures for the challenge:

    Many thanks folks

Sorry missed a critical bit of information there:

The items are personal effects - items on top of the shelves, cupboards, work units etc... not furniture such as sofas, TVs etc.

    Cheers again.

Um - well there is an alternative... move the personal effects out of the shot and re-take the photos...

I wanted to suggest that, but thought it might be non-constructive
Is there any particular reason why that can't be done OP?

Edit: I really should refresh posts before posting

Sadly I'm no expert but looking at those pictures I think it might help if you ring the items you need removing.

That way it'll be less time consuming for the person who takes on the challenge.

Drving the 500miles and retaking the photos would be less work than removing all the personal items from thes photos.

basically you have to lassoo each object (using the magnetic lassoo feature - which will need to be optimised for each object for the edge detection to work - the cut it, then generate the background so that you don't see what has been removed (or you could just copy the background behind the object to be removed over the object. Iguess the pictures are a composite like a JPEG, rather than in layers, so it might be worth converting the pictures to a format that supports layers (as JPG is a lossy format and you don't want to work with that. I guess an expert could do it in a couple of days... personal;ly I'd need a couple of months!!

Thought - 1000 mie round trip at 40/mpg at £4/gallon is about £100 +time, wear and tear etc. Cheap digital camera (4MPixel) between £50/120 - it would still be cheaper and easier to send a camera 500 miles and get someone there to re-take it!

Sorry - that is tongue in cheek - but you are looking at a LOT of work to get good results by touching up the photos in the way you suggest, especially if there are lots of objects.
