    Question USA 230 volt

Does anyone know if the American 230v, 3 pin supply (used for cookers, heaters etc) is compatible with UK computers and power tools?

Don't see why not. 230v is 230v. Universal power supplied will usually handle 100 - 250V quite happily

Didn't know such a thing existed though to be honest

    Most newer PSUs are 100-240v

So would probably work off the american wall socket without much trouble with the correct lead.

Sorry guys, I am aware the US supply is 110volt and I know most computers autoswitch. I am wondering if it is worth taking the rest of my expensive peripherals with me when I emigrate. All the other equipment is 240 only, so I really need to know whether this is compatible with the US 240 supply.
I know American 240 plugs are unfused so this may reflect a fundamental difference in the circuitry??? Also I have a suspicion that where our supply is 50 hertz, the american supply is 60 hertz.
    Any electricians out there?
