Is contrast ratio more important than response time with tft monitors?

I'm looking to buy one of two monitors. One has a contrast ration of 850:1, 5ms response time, 300 cd/m2 and 1440x900 native resolution. The other has a contrast ratio of 1400:1 (DFC\), 8ms response time, 300 cd/m2 and 1280x1024 native resolution. Which would you guys go for?
    Also, what is DFC?

If you could tell the difference between those refresh rates then ur eyes are bloody good, looks like one is widescreen judging by the resolution you quoted, it may be down to personal taste. I would check out some reviews, or post the model info here incase anyone has experience with them

Well both contrast ratios and response times are wildly exaggerated and only achievable in very unuseful scenarios.

I would probably go with the higher contrast ratio out of the two, but actually the biggest choice you've got is whether you want widescreen or not

Here's links to the two monitors

Underneath are links to the two monitors:

Monitor with contrast ratio of 1400:1:

Monitor with contrast ratio of 850:1:

In answer to the widescreen question, I want a widescreen tft.

So what d'you think the best choice would be?

P.S. Sorry in advance if you're not allowed to post links

    Answered my own question

Sorry guys. Only just clocked the picture and realised that the monitor with contrast ration of 1400:1 is not a widescreen tft.
