    Upgrading to Firefox 2

Are there anything special to look out for when upgrading from FireFox 1.5 to 2.0? Can I cleanly transfer my bookmarks/non plug-in related settings? And how do I cleanly remove 1.5?

Ok its actually so easy to do it all and all you have to do is copy and paste a folder and change a line of text in a small text document.

Ill find the webpage for you...

Strange I just clicked on "check for updates" on my ver 1.5, to give you an answer, and it said "no new updates available". Anyway went to mozilla and installed ver 2 and it at least kept all my links, dunno about bookmarks as I use Opera most of the time.

I can't find the one I used, but basically you want to to do the following:

    Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[Your username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

You will see a folder called a funny name (8 characters I think?)
Copy that and paste to your desktop just as a temporary copy.

    Install Mozilla 2.0

    Once installed go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox and open the file called profiles.ini with notepad (right click and open with...)

You will see a file like this:

Path=Profiles/Your profile name (the name of the folder you saved to your desktop.default
    Copy that folder to the:
    Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[Your username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles Directory

Open Firefox, and it should all be as it was before, albeit it firefox 2
