Re: Features - Win one of four mid-range Sapphire Radeon HD graphics cards

I finally meet the 25Post limit so I can enter this Hexus competition. Thanks for the opportunity

Would Definitely love the Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X card, because it's actively cooled, not very noisey, runs cooler than my stock GTX card, my current GeForce card gets quite toasty during games, I think it's due to the stock Single fan cooler. I don't even think of overclocking my GeForce card because the temps get high, and unlocking the fan speed from 70% to 100% only makes the card run hotter, even though it's idling and the fan is roaring at max speed.

For the above reasons, i think this card would be the perfect match for me

    I seek a passive dream.

I say to you today my friends, that in spite of the financial difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have this dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the Hexus user's dream.

A dream to be silent, A dream where our computers can be on without so much as a whine, buzz or humm.

I have a dream that one day this forum will rise up and live out the true meaning of its geek unity: "We want our technology discussion to be self evident: that all forum users are treated equal."

I have a dream. To win that passive card.

Re: Features - Win one of four mid-range Sapphire Radeon HD graphics cards

Well, I'm currently assembling a nice, small, quiet HTPC for controlling my second audio interface, and to use it foe XBMC media player, so an excellent, passively cooled HD7750 is actually on my list already. I don't need a "killer" VGA in any of my PCs, since I play games very occasionally, however, I discovered that a mid-range card is necessary for a smooth experience of the OS, and XBMC which works through DirectX.

If you wonder what XBMC is, it's a really nifty media-centre like program that can play all your media files reliably, run a great "screensaver" in the background [courtesy of "Geiss", great for parties ], and with a little help from add-ons you can play Youtube and other web-TV channels with it. All controllable with your gamepad or a remote! Here: http://xbmc.org/

    Cheers!

As I've grown up I've come to appreciate that the "best" doesn't necessarily mean the most powerful, or the one with the flashiest features. Cards like these Sapphire models deliver the things that I want most in a card, quiet, cool, able to cope with the latest titles, all at a price that's actually within reach.

You know, looking at this passive heatsink, it could be better designed to help the memory fins cool more efficiently by drilling holes through the longer fins that go long-ways across the board so that the air/heat from the memory fins has more space to channel the heat out through the back. Surface area isn't everything.

Re: Features - Win one of four mid-range Sapphire Radeon HD graphics cards

Increasingly my computer is being used for work over play and no one wants to be subjected to the byproducts of an ageing generation of cards where noise and heat came hand-in-hand with performance. It's time to say 'no' to excessive noise and watts of wasted heat and embrace a new generation of cool, quiet and power efficient cards that can make work seem like a peaceful and tranquil day by the side of a still lake rather than spending the day at a jet-engine testing facility. Winning one of these amazing cards could transform my day from a nightmare into a dream - and should I win, I would show my gratitude by using my new silent running machine to compose a magnificent review filled with analytical text, quality photographs and colourful graphs. Thank you for this competition Hexus :^)

Well, it's really very simple. We are about to adopt children. I'm sure they will want to play games. I'm sure it will be my task to help them So a decent card like these, that will allow us our gaming fun without deafening us would be just the job.

OK maybe I shouldn't play the children card, I'll appreciate these even if they don't

Re: Features - Win one of four mid-range Sapphire Radeon HD graphics cards

I'm a student with old used laptop, that can run games realy low(new games i cant even run).(almost all my money goes for scholarship so i cant afford big awesome PC atm) And all my friend's got cool PC's and i cant play with them cuz my laptops cant run alot of games. So if i get 7770 vapor-X or 7750 looks cool to me too.(i dont mind) it would help alot to get me starting to build a new PC(something mid-range).

I should get it because I'm about to be made redundant and I'm going to blow some of the money on a new build (my poor PC is on it's last legs) when really I should be saving it in case I never find another job

Currently looking for a passive card to replace the noisy bugger in the HTPC, this would be perfect for some light gaming too !

Just made a new build with I5 3570K but would like a bit more graphics power the sound of silence is the best thing about the new machine adding the silent Sapphire HD 7750 Ultimates, would only make it better.

"all you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is leave a post in this thread telling us why you think these mid-range cards are a perfect match for you."

These mid range cards are a perfect fit for me because I'm middle aged.
