I've never known GPUs to be affected by either of those things, either from nVidia or AMD!

Re: Graphics Survey 2012! Win £500 to spend at Scan Computers

I've just been looking at the Scan website and dreaming about what I'd spend the money on, should I win of course. I'm torn between a new GPU and a new colour accurate monitor at the moment, I'm dreaming of one day owning something like this or this but not sure if an 8ms screen would be good for gaming with.

I guess it just depends on your personal experiences with them. I've had major problems on both sides for instance.

I've only had minor problems with either driver wise. Had plenty of NVidia cards fail on the hardware side though, always down to memory on the card failing tbh. I'd buy either though, whatever has the best price/performance.

If I win, I will buy a new keyboard + a new graphics card to go in SLI with my current one!

AMD seems to have more issues on the desktop while Nvidia has more issues with games.

Re: Graphics Survey 2012! Win £500 to spend at Scan Computers

I would be purchasing a new G-Card and a new Case for my comp with the £500 no doubt. Maybe a new monitor if I had some money left over (which I doubt I would have)

If I were to win this, I know what I would spend the money on, a new GPU or maybe 2

    Thanks Hexus and SCAN!

I upgrade my GPU when I win a new one. Couldn't find that option.

The should be a "both the same" option for drivers as I've found them to be very similar under Windows over the years. That said Nvidia still hold the lead under Linux so I picked them.

Like the HD7990 comp this is one were I shall prey to the all mighty hexus comp gods for a win on this. Was planning a £650 upgrade with this extra win I could have some serious hardware.

How cool would it be to spend £500 on computer bits right before Christmas

8ms is just fine. I have the 2412M and I'm gaming with no hint of blur or shadowing or trails. (mind you I'm old, and a bit crap. YMMV if you're a hyper)
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.
