exactly, i just dont see either hd dvd or blue ray being the next form of media. Your looking at the next form of media now, a video file!
This should work nicely in the USA
Won't work here for years though, we simply don't have the internet infastructure in the UK to cope with it.
This is not an issue with the speed - up to 8meg is common now and even 512k is enough really, it is an issue with the download limitations. With most companies capping at around 20-30gig for premium services, and 1-5 for basic packages you just won't be able to download all of these high definition movies (which are usually around 10gig for just HD TV episode..or a low quality/highly compressed film).
One day, when ISPs actually start giving us unlimited broadband again (won't be *that* long, the ASA are investigating all these 'unlimited' claims atm) this will be useful..until then we'll just have to watch the USA and be jealous..again.
