Not unexpected but certainly looks the part
If they price it right (much lower than HP's model) then it should be a winner
So just before the eee 901 comes out, I've found something else to wait for! I've been wanting a subnotebook for some time, but they keep me waiting for the next better thing!
You know what would really make me want one... if it gets remodelled to look like the new inspiron range: (I love the corners, it's like the old design was modeled on a Ford KA, and this is modeled on a Lamborghini!)
That is the only thing tempting me to replace my current Inspiron, is the fact the new one looks so much better than my current one.
Only thing is, I got a rather good deal on this laptop, and as such would find it difficult to get the same again short of a grand on the new model.
the keyboard looks awful in andaho's pic, i hate typing on those type its all squidgy and wrong.
at least the press one hexus is using looks to have a real keyboard!
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
oh the keyboard ain't squidgy rubber keys.. take a closer look: Dell XPS m1330
maybe that first photo I posted is a bad one possibly with squidgy keys lol, but it's not what I meant.
Looks really tasty. I'm going to have to get one of these mini-laptops at some point, methinks. I like the HP, too.
Only problem - which I'm fairly sure will apply to the Dell, too - is no touch input... that will mean no upgrade to Windows 7, I guess.
If you stick some sort of GPS on it, will it be any good as a satnav?
the 3 to 4" screens are too small for me, this will be around the right size..
I guess you would mount it on the dashboard using velcro, so you can still carry it around.. unless theres an alternative.. anyone? do they make cradles for these?
While they're designing the dashboard mount, can they do a padded/moulded underside with straps so you can stick it on your arm so you don't drop/lose it. could be useful for some lines of work...
police doing their paperwork springs to mind, so if they're interupted by a hoodie, they can just leg it after him without worrying about dropping anything. could be usefull for deflecting dog bites/hoodie knives/old lady handbags aswell... just a thought i had..
Hopefully they don't fill it up with bloatware like their other computers
You've not bought a recent Dell, have you?
Certainly the Vostro laptops aren't loaded with 3rd-party crap. A couple of programs in there, but that's about it. They even give you a bog standard, unaltered (other than the label) MS OS disk, with a separate one for the drivers and the very few programs that are offered.
They've headed in the complete opposite direction to ACER, where if I'm not mistaken, you're offered 30 days of free leg waxing before they rope you into a 2 year contract with the Satanic Health Care Beauty Salon.
The days of dell loading up bloat on their computers is happily long gone. They changed their ways a couple of years ago now. The modern ones have very little not needed software.
I've very tempted by a sub notebook, but can't justify two laptops really! This dell one looks nice.
