Just goes to show that at times you have no idea where a pre owned console is coming from, could be anyone trading it in. Mind you the customer losing out is not a good thing at all, he should have been given a brand new PS3 as that is what he paid for. Personally I would take the company that sold it to court, police should also do the same as they were handling stolen goods.
So this begs the question, did the shop sell the (obviously) 2nd hand PS3 as a 'new' console or as a Pre-owned one?

thats just terrible... surely the shop should be done for handling and selling stolen goods?
while the guy that got the ps3 is left out of pocket...

WTF is the author on about? It turns out that the police had tracked down the stolen console to his home address via his IP address. The police had contacted his Internet Provider and obtained a search warrant before heading round there to investigate. Jeez, haven't they got better things to do.
The police have investigated a crime and tracked stolen goods. What would you say if the police had told the owner they weren't going to bother doing anything.
Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't
Seriously, have you thought this through before forming a kneejerk based opinion on the police involvement?
Fortunately if this happened in the UK, the buyer would be entitled by law to a full refund.Anyhow, we digress. The police then confiscated the console and Waller did what anyone in that situation would do - head down to the store to get a deserved refund.
However, employees at 3-D Games decided to instead of giving Waller his money back or a replacement PS3, they gave him an Xbox 360 as compensation, which retails at $150 cheaper than the PS3. Not only was Waller out of pocket, he gets a console that he didn't even want.
"I just want the public to be warned about this place," Waller said.
Too right you should warn people, bunch of crooks if you ask us. That's almost as bad the initial crime.
"In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship."
So his console gets nicked and he gets an XBOX as replacement?
Okay.. quick question; was the replacement a first gen XBOX 360 that the store had had kicking around for ages?
I guess we're expected to do quite wellOriginally Posted by Fortune117

PSP? Must be joking... 2nd gen console like a PS2 more likely
