    Think il stick with Firefox.

Will have to be pretty impressive to tempt people away from IE or Firefox.

    opera uses Qt, i think

the same toolkit that Webkit actually comes from (it started life as KHTML, in Konqueror). though AFAIK Webkit doesn't *need* Qt anymore (see Gtk browsers like Epiphany switching to Webkit)

Well, having downloaded it, initial impressions are not to bad. Clean and easy to use. Seems to be nice and fast too. Doesn't like youtube (or at least the bit I tried to view) and will not scroll back up using the scroll section on the right of my trackpad.

aha, focus. this is a pretty common thing for those of us running flash in a 64-bit browser. if you click on the plugin, it'll mean focus for all input (including the scroll wheel) goes inside the plugin. if you click away, i.e. on the page, then focus (and scrolling) goes to the page.

Didn't help. The little icon for scrolling pops up but the page still goes nowhere.

I'm loving it so far, been using it for a while now.

Fast, stable (so far), love the features (especially multi process tabs).

It also hogs the limelight and when maximised doesn't let my windows menu bar pop down. It also when restored down sometimes stays on top of the bar! Vista home 32 here.

Using Chrome now, very impressed. Firefox has been starting to grate slightly, few glitches more security issues becoming popular and exploitable.

UI feels an improvement on Firefox out the box. Plus for me speed of browsing/rendering wins hands down. It's what has moved browser time after time, from Netscape navigator to IE5, from IE to firefox. Render the page faster and i'm happy.

Re: News - Google to enter browser wars with Google Chrome

i've installed it now after a bit of prompting from a friend...initial impressions are that I hate the lack of a status bar, and i'm not at all keen on the tabs being right at the top of the app. It feels like the same jump microsoft made when switching from IE6 to IE7..that is a nasty idea.

However, the IE7 UI has grown on me (even if I still resent the lack of file/edit/help menus by default [without pressing alt]), so maybe this will too...

Best thing about it so far? Theres no flash! Just like IE7 x64..brilliant Oh and it pretty darn quick too, guess thats kinda important hehe.

Might need to give it a go.

Never been taken with FF for some reason, not sure why. Opera is my current favourite, I just can't get over how brilliant the Speed Dial is!

    Impressive, very impressive...

All it needs now are a few choice add-ons a la firefox, and I'd be happy to ditch the other browsers

I just found the spell check too.. it's annoying good so far, I wanted to poke fun at it lol

I don't like the lack of an icon top right for double click closing.. I'm used to that.

It's forgetting to zoom the text on every link.. and I'm too far away from the monitor for native. Fact to FF I go, for now lol
